marble
A crystalline limestone of varying colour, with more or less pronounced vein patterns, which derives its structure from metamorphic phenomena; in general terms, any type of rock which can be polished, used for cladding and decoration. When treated with silicone waterproofing products, it has good resistance to organic and acid stains and to limescale.

Medium Density Board
Or M.D.B.: boards consisting of very small wood fibres pressed together with adhesives. It is used as an alternative to natural wood since it is amazingly easy to shape. Surfaces are very compact, smooth, tough and uniform, ideal for finishing with lacquer
Methacrylate
A derivate of methyacrylic acid, it is a clear, strong synthetic polymer used as a substitute for glass.
mineral
a natural substance, almost always inorganic, solid at ordinary temperatures, obtained from the earth's lithosphere. It may be a constituent of rocks. It has a uniform, crystalline structure with a clearly defined chemical formula; it is generally a compound but may also be an element (e.g. copper, gold)
modular
Anything consisting of individual elements of the same size or whose dimensions are multiples of each other. In common usage, a module is an individual element of a furniture composition, and not just the element which provides the basic size for all the others
molasses
A syrupy liquid, consisting of about one half saccharose, left after sugar has been extracted from sugar-cane or sugar-beet.
mosaic
An artistic technique for making wall and floor coverings, and even sculptures in more recent times, in which fragments of stone or glass, often of different colour, are used to build up figurative compositions
multilayered board
A term used to describe a panel, usually made of wood, consisting of at least three layers of sheets (plies)
