Or lacquered materials: finishing materials used for painting (finishing) furniture. Units are painted with varnishes and lacquers of various kinds, generally made from synthetic resins. There are many possible combinations and a vast range of aesthetic effects can be obtained.
laminate
Laminate is a phenol or melamine finish normally applied to wood-based board such as wooden particle boards or MDF boards. It has excellent technical characteristics and is tough and easy to keep clean. In common usage it is often described as "formica"; it consists of a series of sheets of resin glued together to create a thickness of about 0.6 mm. Nowadays, the leading kitchen producers use HPL, or high pressure laminate, a material compliant with EN 438/1 standards, with excellent water-repellence, stability and resistance properties.
