One of the most important values for a design project is its capacity to be sensitive, even towards less fortunate people.
To meet the needs of people with reduced motor capabilities and enable them to prepare meals in comfort, today there are systems for highly ergonomic kitchens. Because design really is by and for everyone.

A kitchen designed for everyone
Utility System by Scavolini is an innovative system of elements that lets everyone with reduced ambulatory capabilities - the disabled, the elderly or people with reduced movement - to comfortably carry out every activity in the kitchen.

The elements of Utility System can be applied to all Scavolini kitchens currently in production.
This allows an even greater liberty of aesthetic choice, on the base of one's own needs and tastes.


What is Utility System?
In this project, each element is designed to achieve the maximum of ease.
The ergonomically profiled counter top (without base units underneath) is available in various heights, and permits a wheelchair to access the cooking range and sink.
Everything is located in such a way as to be reachable with a simple gesture of the arm (see photo 1).
Among the other enablers that diminish the need for movement there are also pull-out counter tops, railings that can be applied to all the furniture and above all, the baskets of the wall cabinets with a motorized shelving system (photo, right) which also comes with a remote control.
Even the appliances and storage units (photo 2 and 3) are placed at the ideal height according to each and every person's needs and also have side openings.
